Saleh Bukhamseen represents an outstanding example of national talent in wildlife documentary production. He works as a documentary film producer within the Media Department at the National Center for Wildlife, and is recognized as one of Saudi Arabia’s leading underwater cinematographers.

Saleh began his career as a self-taught underwater cinematographer, specializing in documenting the ecosystems of the Arabian Gulf and the Red Sea and their rich biodiversity. Combining his passion for diving with filmmaking, he produces documentaries that highlight Saudi Arabia’s marine environment and its relationship with humans. Over more than a decade of field experience, he has produced a series of independent environmental films, most notably “The Strange Neighbor” and “Al-Hawata.”

Saleh plays a key role in supporting the Center’s mission through specialized media production, including:

Producing and managing documentary films on terrestrial and marine wildlife in Saudi Arabia.

  1. award Winner of the Nice International Film Festival (2022) for “Al-Hawata”, a documentary highlighting the maritime heritage of fishermen in the Red Sea (Yanbu), presented on an international platform.
  2. award Winner at the Houston Underwater Film Festival (HUFF) for “The Strange Neighbor”, showcasing rare marine species in Saudi Arabia’s waters.
  3. award Participation in multiple editions of the Saudi Film Festival with environmental documentary works.
