Project Brief
The National Center for Wildlife (NCW), in collaboration with the Ministry of Environment Water and Agriculture (MEWA) and the National Center for Privatization & PPP (NCP), is pleased to invite submissions of Expressions of Interest (EOI) and Statement of Qualification (SOQ) from interested parties collectively for (“Public Private Partnership For Inspection And Monitoring Of Wildlife And Its Products And Derivatives In Outlets And Points Of Entry” or the “Project”) for:
-
(i) Conduct wildlife inspections across 14 Points of Entry and ~50,000 wildlife outlets across the Kingdom to ensure compliance with all related environmental laws and implementing regulations.
-
(ii) Deploy qualified wildlife inspectors across the 14 Points of Entry and all wildlife outlets.
-
(iii) Provide additional offices, vehicles, tools, and equipment for wildlife inspectors to conduct their duties.
The Project is a Public Private Partnership (“PPP”) initiative intended to meet the objectives of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 of increasing private sector participation. NCW is mandated to protect wildlife in the Kingdom and increase the compliance of wildlife trade to environmental and wildlife related laws. Conducting inspections of wildlife outlets and markets and wildlife trade entering and exiting Points of Entry is an important aspect of NCW’s mandate.
