Workshop for Organizers of Tourist Trips According to the National Strategy for Ecotourism

Today in Al Jubail, a training workshop for specialists in bird monitoring began to implement a unified method for monitoring and counting marine and water birds in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC). The workshop is organized in collaboration between the General Secretariat of the Gulf Cooperation Council and the National Center for Wildlife and continues until Thursday, August 31st. It is attended by delegations from all GCC countries.
The workshop started with a welcome speech by Dr. Mohammed Y. Shubrak, emphasizing the importance of developing monitoring and tracking programs by relevant authorities for bird protection in the GCC. He emphasized the need to enhance the capabilities of specialized personnel in this field. The workshop is aimed at improving the capacities of professionals in bird monitoring in the region.
The workshop included lectures covering bird protection, their migration routes, locations, the concept of migratory route protection, important bird and biodiversity areas, as well as marine and aquatic bird habitats in the Arabian Peninsula. It also focused on preparing for monitoring and counting, site mapping, and creating a counting program with counting models.
